Hunter Safety and Training (HS & T) was started in April 2000 by Colin Hunter, formerly Health and Safety Adviser and trainer to Weir Pumps Ltd and several Weir Group Companies. Having joined the Company in 1977 as an industrial Chemist, he was asked to take on the role of COSHH assessor in 1988 which sparked an immediate interest in all things Health and Safety soon after.
This led to the appointment as Health and Safety Adviser in 1995 with responsibility for three main plants in the UK, a dozen or so engineering service centres up and down the country and a number of other Weir Group Companies.
In April 2000, the challenge of self employment proved irresistible and HS & T was formed.
Caroline Hunter joined the business in June 2004, quickly completing the NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety by the end of that year. Since then she has been building up a wide range of experience on construction sites, power stations and engineering workshops throughout the country. |
